Jack Grealish's future has just become clearer as Newcastle pursue Man City star

Jack Grealish’s Manchester City career looks to be coming to an end.

The winger has been with the Manchester club since 2021 and has developed into a fan favourite; however, the 29-year-old has not delivered on the pitch, with the 2024/25 campaign being his worst as the Englishman fell down Pep Guardiola’s pecking order.

Grealish has been left out of Man City’s squad for the FIFA Club World Cup this summer, and that was the biggest indication for the player that his time at the Etihad Stadium is up.

It was recently reported that Grealish has accepted that his Man City career is over, and the future of his career has become clearer, as the most likely outcome has now emerged.

Jack Grealish is very likely to go out on loan

Man City are seeking £50m to part ways with Grealish this summer, and in addition to the £300,000-a-week wages he is currently earning in Manchester, this makes a transfer difficult for many clubs this summer.

Therefore, Pete O’Rourke is reporting for Football Insider that the most likely outcome for the winger ahead of the 2025/26 campaign is a loan move, with Man City paying the majority of the Englishman’s wages.

The report states that Everton and Newcastle United are leading the race to sign the Man City star, if this can be done, but it remains to be seen if the player is happy with moving temporarily, as it has been reported that Grealish would like to find a permanent club.

If that is the case, that may have to come from abroad, as no English club seems keen on signing the winger for £50m this summer, while his stock is currently low.

Other clubs that are interested in Jack Grealish

Saudi Arabia is the last resort for Grealish this summer as a move to the Saudi Pro League would be viewed as the winger taking a step down in his career, although it would give him a permanent home and a very large salary.

If the Man City star is to leave for good ahead of the new season, Napoli is the most likely destination for Grealish, as the Serie A club are keen on the 29-year-old having lost Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in January.

AC Milan have also been linked to Grealish in recent weeks, while Tottenham and Aston Villa’s names have been thrown around, but like the other Premier League clubs, they will seek a loan deal.

Wherever the Englishman goes, he simply needs to make sure he is playing, as that is the only way the Man City star can work his way into Thomas Tuchel’s plans for the World Cup next summer.
