A Bangladesh Cricket Board official said on Tuesday that they have appointed Ashiqur Rahman as the interim fielding coach for the upcoming Pakistan series.The decision was taken as regular fielding coach James Pamment was ruled out of the series due to back pain."We have appointed Ashiqur as fielding coach for Pakistan series as Pamment has some back issues," BCB cricket operations in-charge Shahriar Nafees confirmed to Cricbuzz on Tuesday. "Our medical team suggested that Pamment should be doing a rehab to recover from the back issues," he said."It also provides us an opportunity to see one of our local coaches at international atmosphere," he added.Ashiqur, who joined the Bangladesh national team's training session at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Tuesday, is a familiar figure among the national cricketers, having worked closely with extended squads and development groups in recent years. In the recent past, he hogged the spotlight for his unlikely friendship with teenage batting sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi.Bangladesh and Pakistan began their preparations for the upcoming two-match Test series at SBNS on Tuesday. The opening Test is scheduled for April 8 in Dhaka, while the second Test will be played in Chattogram on April 16.
