The first time was so nice, Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz had to do it twice.Just 35 days after the respective world No.1 and No.2 tennis players played out a five-and-a-half-hour classic in the Roland-Garros final, they now prepare to face off in the men’s singles final at Wimbledon 2025 on Sunday (13 July). This will be the second consecutive major men’s final between Sinner and Alcaraz, and if their Parisian classic is anything to go by, their Centre Court duel will be just as, if not even more, special. When they met for the first time at Wimbledon back in 2022, neither man had won a Grand Slam with the legendary duo of Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer yet to retire. Sinner won in four sets that day, and 11 meetings later, they are back on the grass and its greatest stage at the All England Lawn Tennis Club. The 23-year-old Italian has hardly broken a sweat all tournament, dropping a joint-record-low number of games (17) in his opening three matches. Grigor Dimitrov is the only man to have taken a set, let alone two, off Sinner, before he had to retire injured in the fourth round. While Alcaraz has had to contest more sets en route to the final, he has thwarted away all opposition in pursuit of his third consecutive Wimbledon title. The Spaniard comes into the championship match with 24 consecutive victories, 20 straight wins at SW19 and 17 grass-court victories on the bounce. Will Sinner notch a fourth Grand Slam and first outside of hard courts, or will Alcaraz maintain his 100 per cent winning record in major finals?
