Manchester United start their Carabao Cup charge a little bit earlier than they would have wanted this season, having failed to qualify for European competition.

Tonight sees them in second round action against League Two opposition Grimsby Town at Blundell Park. It's an eye-catching tie which has been chosen for TV coverage across the board.

Carabao Cup broadcasting rights are, once again, held by Sky Sports this season. Sky Sports will show tonight's match live on Sky Sports Football, Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports UHDR, with the coverage and build-up starting from 7pm - an hour before kick-off in Cleethorpes - on those channels.

With a valid subscription, supporters unable to attend the game can live stream the action on the Sky Go app, which is available on mobile phones, laptops and other such devices. Alternatively, NOW-TV will do likewise, if you've signed up to their (paid) online service, of course.

But you can also follow every kick tonight FREE of charge!

As part of an agreement between the EFL, Sky Sports and ITV, certain games in the Carabao Cup are broadcast simultaneously on the two stations. That's the case here, too, with ITV 1 showing United against their high-flying League Two opponents - who are hoping to cause a mighty upset.

United, though, will have other ideas. They won the competition under Erik ten Hag in 2023 and will - naturally - have hopes of going all the way to Wembley once again this season.

On the back of another rebuild, Ruben Amorim's side are searching for their first piece of silverware since he was appointed to replace Ten Hag in the dugout. Of course, they reached the Europa League final last season, but the trophy ultimately went to Premier League rivals Tottenham.

Following that, and a dismal top-flight finish, United were unable to clinch European football this season.

Beyond terrestrial coverage, ITV X is the place to be for free live streaming tonight.
