Atletico Madrid head coach Diego Simeone has challenged Nigeria winger Ademola Lookman to score more goals after he grabbed his first LaLiga goal on Saturday.Lookman was among the goals as Atletico secured a 4-2 victory over RCD Espanyol at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano – their first victory in four LaLiga games, and a first against the Catalan club in five encounters. The Super Eagle grabbed the third before Sorloth headed home a fourth as the game flowed from end to end. This was Lookman’s first goal for Atletico in the league since making his big money move from Atalanta.Lookman has that goal-scoring instinctSpeaking after the game, Simeone reserved praise for the former Atalanta player, while admitting he needs more goal from him as well.“Lookman primarily adds goals, more goals than play. He can improve in play and defensive work. We need him in this aspect and to adapt to what the team is working on,” Simeone told reporters after the game as quoted by ysscores.“His message is that he wants to improve as a football player. He has that goal-scoring instinct, and it’s no coincidence those goals he has already scored. We need more from him in play as well.”On the game, Simeone said: “We needed to collect points in the league to get closer to the teams ahead of us. The team read the match well, we conceded an early goal, and we couldn’t resolve that situation.“I think we could have done more defensively.”By scoring on Saturday, Lookman continued his strong start with Atletico, having scored his fourth goal in his first six matches for the team across all competitions. This figure is considered one of the best offensive starts for a player at the club in recent years.
