Jakub Mensik now has more attention on him after beating Novak Djokovic to win his first ATP title at the Miami Open.Mensik made history by winning the Miami Open, after beating the likes of Jack Draper, Arthur Fils, Taylor Fritz and Djokovic.After the 19-year-old won his first ATP Masters 1000 title, Mensik received praise from Nick Kyrgios and many others across the tennis world.Djokovic was also complimentary towards Mensik, despite the disappointment of losing the chance to win his 100th ATP title.Tennis fans are now looking to see what Mensik does next, as he turns his attention to the clay court season.Photo by Al Bello/Getty ImagesJakub Mensik withdraws from the Monte Carlo MastersMensik has been rewarded with a ranking rise after winning the Miami Open, climbing 30 places to reach a career-high of world number 24.Despite now being a top 25 ranked player, Mensik was only scheduled to play qualifying at his next tournament, the Monte Carlo Masters, as the entry list had came out before he had won the Miami Open.However, it appears that will no longer be the case after it was revealed that Mensik had withdrawn from playing qualifying.More Tennis NewsThere has been some speculation over whether Mensik has been awarded a wildcard for the Monte Carlo Masters instead, with three yet to be announced by the first Masters 1000 tournament of the clay court season.Richard Gasquet, who is retiring in the coming months, is the only player to have received a wildcard for the event so far.However, Mensik has also been taken off the alternate list to enter the main draw, suggesting that he is taking an extra week to recover from his victory in Miami.Where will Jakub Mensik play next?Mensik played his first clay court season on the main ATP Tour last year, winning five of his eight matches.The Czech teenager achieved his best result at Croatia Open, reaching the semi-finals before losing to Lorenzo Musetti.Mensik also won his only ATP Challenger title at a clay court tournament in Prague in 2023.After withdrawing from the Monte Carlo Masters, Mensik is now set to begin his clay court season at the ATP 500 tournament in Munich.Similarly to Monte Carlo, Mensik is currently on the qualifying list in Munich, but is only two withdrawals away from gaining entry to the main draw.The Bavarian Open in Munich gets underway on Monday April 14, with Mensik also scheduled to play at the Madrid Masters.
