Listen to articlePakistan's cricket team has been fined 25% of their match fees while five points have been deducted in the ICC World Test Championship following a slow over-rate during the Cape Town Test against South Africa.According to an ICC media release, the penalty was imposed by Elite Panel Match Referee Richie Richardson after Pakistan fell short of the required overs within the designated time.Under the ICC Code of Conduct Article 2.22, teams are fined 5% of their match fees for every over bowled less than the required number.Additionally, under the ICC World Test Championship’s playing conditions, Article 16.11.2, the team loses one point per over under the required total.Pakistan captain Shan Masood accepted the responsibility for the offence as well as the penalty.
