Everton look set to miss out on one of their managerial targets as Graham Potter nears a move to West Ham United.

Speculation surrounding Sean Dyche’s future remains as Everton fail to turn around their poor start to the season.

The Friedkin Group are giving Dyche time to prove his worth at Goodison Park as they continue their internal review.

However, the new Everton owners could well find themselves forced to make a decision if the threat of relegation continues to grow.

Everton were interested in Graham Potter, but the 49-year-old is looking increasingly likely to replace Julen Lopetegui at West Ham.

Now, sources have informed Everton News of the latest in the club’s stance on replacing Dyche.

Everton sources have insisted Dyche will be given an opportunity to turn things around on Merseyside despite the recent form.

However, there is work going on behind the scenes at Everton as The Friedkin Group continue to stay alert to any opportunities.

Sources have claimed the newly-knighted Southgate is an option which the Friedkins are alert to as they do their due diligence on potential Dyche successors.

Some Everton fans want to see David Moyes return to the club, so potentially hiring the former England manager may receive a mixed response.

Sean Dyche aware of Everton’s poor situation

Having left his role as the England manager, Southgate has taken the opportunity to reflect on his time as the manager of the Three Lions.

His departure saw numerous England players share their appreciation with Jude Bellingham praising the 54-year-old as an ‘unbelievable human being’ on his Instagram account.

Southgate may be well aware of the situation unfolding on Merseyside as Dyche has even admitted he is conscious the new owners want better results.

Speaking in his latest press conference, Dyche spoke about the situation he finds himself in with results leaving a lot to be desired.

“It should be [under scrutiny]. At the end of the day, if you are a business or a club of this size then succession planning should surely be part of your due diligence,” he said.

“I’ve got no problem with that. It should be ongoing at every football club. It happens in normal business life, so I never really concern myself with that.”
