On Saturday, the Gunners boarded a plane to Asia as Mikel Arteta looks to step up preparations ahead of the new Premier League season.Arsenal will face AC Milan and Newcastle United in Singapore before heading to Hong Kong to play Tottenham Hotspur for the first-ever overseas North London Derby. Then, once the Gunners return to the United Kingdom, they'll host Villarreal and Athletic Club at the Emirates Stadium.A week or so later, Arsenal will lock horns with Manchester United at Old Trafford for the first game of the 2025/26 Premier League campaign. The summer transfer window doesn't shut until September, but Arteta will be hoping Andrea Berta can sign Gyokeres well in advance.So, with that being said, football.london has rounded up the latest Arsenal news.Gyokeres talks 'advanced'Viktor Gyokeres has not been named in the initial Arsenal squad for the pre-season tour of Asia. football.london understands that the Gunners had hoped to have the Sporting striker on the flight to Singapore, with Arteta keen to have his new player on the plane.Talks with the Portuguese champions are at a very advanced stage; Gyokeres will be able to join the squad once a deal is completed. It's understood that Arsenal remain calm about the situation.There's a hope that the 27-year-old will play some minutes in Asia before the north Londoners return for friendlies against Villarreal and Athletic Club at the Emirates Stadium.football.london says: "Hopefully the Arsenal sporting director can wrap up a deal in the coming days so that we can see Viktor Gyokeres in action for Mikel Arteta's side."Barcelona enter Rodrygo raceAccording to Fabrizio Romano on his YouTube channel, Real Madrid are currently in talks with Rodrygo over his future. The report claims that the 24-year-old winger 'loves' the club, but there's a 'real possibility' he could leave in the coming weeks.It's said that Real Madrid could be open to selling Rodrygo if they receive an offer in the region of €100m (£85m). Meanwhile, UOL Esporte reckons that Barcelona have joined the race for the Brazilian international.The Catalan outfit have reportedly contacted intermediaries to inform them of their interest in the player. The report states that there are no ongoing talks, but Hansi Flick's side have made it clear they're willing to open negotiations if Rodrygo decides to leave.football.london says: "Wow! Imagine if Rodrygo goes to Barcelona. I can't see it happening with Marcus Rashford on his way to the Camp Nou, but that would be crazy."Arsenal youngster pens contractDemiane Agustien has signed his first professional contract at Arsenal this weekend. The 17-year-old midfielder caught the eye in the Under-18 Premier League, recording 16 goal contributions over two seasons with Derby County.Speaking to club media upon putting pen to paper, Agustien said: "I'm just very pleased, obviously playing for a big club. Can't wait to get started and play for Arsenal. I think the way they’ve got the ex-pro footballers here as well, which is something big within the club."Obviously, you've got the likes of Per [Mertesacker], which I've obviously spoken to as well, and I know his values.
